    SKOLKOVO Low Carbon Dialogue

In recent years, leading oil and gas companies have begun setting ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. However, achieving these goals is a daunting task, and developing a realistic decarbonisation strategy is a complex, multi-step and unique process for each company.

Given the importance of this challenge for both the global and the Russian oil and gas industry, SKOLKOVO Low Carbon Dialogue is a great opportunity for Russian and foreign oil and gas companies to share experience, discuss the role of decarbonisation in the strategy of industry players, as well as market and regulatory prerequisites that are necessary to accelerate decarbonisation and integrate climate agenda into corporate business strategy.

The event will be attended by high-ranking representatives of international and Russian oil and gas and service companies, Russian regulators, as well as international experts and analytical organisations representatives.

Decarbonization of Oil & Gas: International Experience and Russian Priorities

    • This study focuses on how the oil and gas sector can remain a significant part of the global energy system in net-zero paradigm. This study aims to review the structure of GHG emitted by the oil and gas industry and to systematize potential methods for reducing these emissions, using cases of leading oil and gas companies. The methodology of this study was based on the analysis of a broad range of sources, case studies, and in-depth interviews with representatives of international oil and gas companies focused on their strategies and methods for reducing GHG emissions.
