Vadim Makhov is a Professor of Business Practice, prominent entrepreneur, manager, and innovator.
Vadim gained his Ph.D. in Economics at the State University of Management in 1999 before earning his MBA at Northumbria University in 2000.
Vadim has been teaching on open programs and seminars at Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO since 2009. He has authored and co-authored courses including Contours of the Future, Innovations, Business Planning and Smart Investor. He developed a unique business simulation game for training skills and understanding principles to build an efficient investment portfolio.
These courses were developed based on Vadim's successful experience in top positions at major companies and his research of the history of innovations.
Vadim has been actively involved in research and teaching innovations and finance for the past five years.
Vadim is the author of the book Humanity's Lucky Clover - A History of Discoveries, Technologies, Competition, and Wealth (2016). On 15th January 2019, the UN Library selected his book for its collection.
Vadim also wrote the book Innovators Take Over. Battlefield: Heavy Machinery Engineering (2013). In 2015, his article OMZ Group Chairman of the Board of Directors about the Ways of Retrieving the Lost Markets was published in the Harvard Business Review Russia.
Vadim has participated in many unique innovation projects in Russian and international companies and led the development of several new products. In 2008, Vadim has founded Bard Worldwide, the fund investing in the technologies of the future.
Vadim has significant corporate management experience as a board member at major companies in different industries. He also gained extensive practical experience in strategy, operational improvements, and business model redesign at Severstal. He worked as a visiting professor at Cranfield University from 2007 to 2016.
