Evgeny Kaganer is Professor and Dean for Academic Affairs at Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. Prior to joining SKOLKOVO, between 2007 and 2019 he served on the faculty of IESE Business School, where he continues to hold a visiting position.
Evgeny’s research, teaching and consulting focus on how digitalization and artificial intelligence reshape business models and organizations. He has published on these topics in premier academic and business journals, including Academy of Management Review, MIS Quarterly, MIT Sloan Management Review and Communications of the Association for Computing Machinery among others. His work on the effects of digitalization in business and education has been widely cited in major media outlets, such as the Financial Times, Business Week, Forbes, Handelsblatt, Maeil Business Newspaper, CIO Magazine, and San Francisco Chronicle.
Evgeny has extensive experience working with senior executive teams in Europe, North and South America, Asia, Middle East, and Russia on the topic of organizational transformation. He has taught, directed customized programs, and consulted with multinational companies, including Swire, UPS, Oracle, Schneider Electric, ERSTE Group, Amadeus, Carlsberg, Etisalat, Gazprom Neft, Evraz, Metalloinvest and Rostelecom among others. He was a core member of the team that helped IESE Business School finish first the Financial Time’s ranking for executive education six years in a row. He also has won several teaching awards at IESE, SKOLKOVO and University of Reykjavik and in 2013 was included in the 100 Best Business School Professors list compiled by the Economist Intelligence Unit.
While at IESE, Evgeny served as Academic Director for Learning Innovation, helping bring to market one of the first virtual classroom solutions developed in partnership with Barco. As Dean for Academic Affairs at SKOLKOVO, Evgeny oversees programs, faculty, and research centers.
A native of Ekaterinburg, Russia, Evgeny holds an MD degree from Ural State Medical Academy, MBA from Syracuse University, and PhD from Louisiana State University.
