She has published on these topics in leading academic journals, including the International Journal of Production Research, Technovation, the International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management, Systemic Practice and Action Research, the Journal of Social Entrepreneurship, and the TQM Magazine. Her work on the impact of TQM and supply chain management standards on innovative product development by emerging market multinationals has been cited widely.

She also has served as Editorial Board member of a number of well-known journals including the Asia Pacific Business Review and Business Strategy and the Environment, and was appointed IGI Global Fellow by the INNO Global Institute of Korea University’s Asian Business Centre.

Barbara received her Masters in Economics (Diplom Volkswirt) from the Technische Universität (TU) Berlin and her Dr. rer pol in Development Economics from the Freie Universität (FU) Berlin, where she started her career as junior lecturer.

Barbara is keen on exploring how advances in pedagogy support the development of skills for practice-driven and relevant, rigorous research methodologies that serve professionals and executives as they pursue a professional doctorate degree. She is currently developing the curriculum structure of a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme to be launched.
