With their broad horizons and diverse interests, the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO students and alumni like to spend their free time socialising informally and creating clubs. Whether it is photography or publishing, finance or government relations, women’s or family clubs, you can find all kinds of like-minded people at SKOLKOVO. And this is only the beginning, because every student adds a little bit of himself or herself to the school.

SKOLKOVO Women Association

Created with the help of the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, the Women’s Association unites students, graduates and employees. Its core aim is to contribute to the professional development of businesswomen. Representatives of the SKOLKOVO community gather to widen their social circles in business, culture and politics. One of the association’s key tasks is to show the true potential of participants through greater social activity.

The SKOLKOVO Times is the school’s first independent student newspaper. It publishes materials about the school; its students and alumni; their successes, failures, and challenges; and life after graduating. The SKOLKOVO Times is a platform via which students, alumni and staff can achieve their literary ambitions. Its authors are representatives of the SKOLKOVO community who would like to excel in journalism and report on projects, their personal and professional experience, news and interesting events.

SKOLKOVO E-Club

The SKOLKOVO Entrepreneurs’ Club provides an open, informal environment in which students, alumni and guests can exchange opinions, experience and ideas about how to run a business, as well as discuss current business tasks, seek new effective acquaintances and obtain additional acumen. It is moderated and was inspired by Lawrence Wright, director of start-up projects at the school.
Club meetings are held monthly on campus, and each is usually dedicated to a subject that has provoked intense debate. The meetings provide not only an opportunity to spend time with like-minded people, but also the chance to learn about fresh ideas from visiting speakers and experts. Meetings are in a friendly, informal atmosphere.

SKOLKOVO Family Club

The SKOLKOVO Family Club is a community created by MBA and Executive MBA students to meet and share ideas and experience. However, the meetings are dedicated not to personal experience, but to that of parents, relatives and friends.
The school regularly hosts visiting experts from business, science and culture. One important distinction of the club’s meetings and discussions is that they are informal. The list of topics for discussion is long, and the club members are one large family!
The Family Club is also a platform for active, creative communication among adults and children aimed at strengthening families and aiding the development of the next generation. 

SKOLKOVO International Community

SKOLKOVO International Community (SIC) is a platform for students, alumni and employees of Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO who have an international interest and mind set. The club is open to everybody. Its goals are sharing experience among students and alumni who act in an international environment, supporting international students before and during their studies, and – primarily – serves as a platform for all (international) alumni, helping them stay closer to the school and to SKOLKOVO’s community even though they are living or working outside Russia. SIC will arrange at least one annual meeting to be held outside Russia at a venue that is either directly related to SKOLKOVO or home cities of Skolkovites. The event combines networking, sharing of knowledge/ experience, cultural and leisure activities.

SKOLKOVO Finance Club

The SKOLKOVO Finance Club is a platform for discussing the numerous financial issues faced in professional life, from general macroeconomic to pure financial management questions. As part of the club’s activities, members have met CFOs of leading Russian and foreign companies and participated in financial conferences. SKOLKOVO GR Club

Government relations (GR) are an integral part of business worldwide, especially in emerging markets, and the SKOLKOVO GR Club is a community of people interested in addressing the issues facing the Russian nation. Members gather to discuss issues relating to the functioning of the state and developing cooperation between government and business, among others.
The core aim of the club is to create an organisation that allows entrepreneurs and business representatives to effectively manage issues regarding interaction with government. 

SKOLKOVO Art-Club

The SKOLKOVO Art Club was established by the second intake of MBA students and Alexey Germanovich, director of public projects and professor of practice, in January 2011. Its core aim is to engage SKOLKOVO students in developing opportunities for valuing art and creating start-ups on the art market. Meetings take place on campus and at Winzavod, Garage and the Strelka Institute. Alongside members, business and art representatives also attend, while guests include Nikolay Palazhchenko, art director of Winzavod, Sergey Desyatov, director of ARTPLAY and other prominent people.
 

SKOLKOVO Photo Club

The SKOLKOVO Photo Club is a platform for people interested in photography. We work on joint projects with photographer Sergey Kovalenko, discuss related issues and search for ways to fulfil our creative ambitions. Our plans for the future include joint photo-shoots, visits to exhibitions and creating a club website. 

SKOLKOVO Volunteer Club

SKOLKOVO today is more than just a business school, and students and alumni are more than just entrepreneurs and managers. This is why the MBA students had the idea of creating the SKOLKOVO Volunteer Club, where knowledge, experience and positive energy can be applied for the sake of those in need. Help yourself by helping others. It is not really important how much time you spend doing so: commitment is what counts.
Among the club’s core aims are to create a pool of professionals (consulting, investment, moral support); create a platform through which the school’s social activity can be organised; increase knowledge about managing non-commercial organisations and developing social initiatives; help and support students’ social projects.
