SKOLKOVO Has Formed Core Faculty Team Print
Thursday, 25 June 2009

Moscow, June 25, 2009 – Forming its faculty team, Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO has set a goal to find reputable professors, giving them the inspiration to work in Russia while collaborating with the school and the companies working on the global market.  This resulted in a team, which features world renowned professors with substantial teaching knowledge and research experience.

SKOLKOVO: SKOLKOVO Has Formed Core Faculty TeamSKOLKOVO’s faculty is distinguished not only by the high academic expertise, but also a single view. Wilfried Vanhonacker, SKOLKOVO Dean spoke about the criteria for the faculty selection: “We searched for people, who would share our view and values, and would want to participate in the training of a new generation of leader-entrepreneurs. Professors, who have already reached the top of their academic career, often seek large-scale projects, which provide an opportunity to create something new. At SKOLKOVO they find these new opportunities”.

When inviting the faculty, the school was guided not by the industries, but by the spheres, in which it wants to have the best expertise – rapidly developing markets, entrepreneurship and leadership, and infrastructure. Both teaching and research activities of the professors are focused in these main spheres. The professors will pass their expertise into educational programs, which will change the classical view on business education, which is primarily focused on education through real world projects and stimulating cross-functional thinking.
