MTS and Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO launched a joint innovative educational project MTS Leadership DNA Print

Moscow, January 25, 2010. - Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (NYSE: MBT), the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS, and the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO announce the launch of the joint innovative educational project MTS Leadership DNA. The project represents a combination of education and consulting with the world best telecommunication and IT industry practices, which is unique for Russia.

The programme jointly developed by MTS and SKOLKOVO will involve professors of SKOLKOVO and the world best business schools such as INSEAD and Columbia Business School. This will be the first time for top managers of the world largest telecommunication and IT companies to act as experts in the Russian corporate business education market.

The result of competitive selection was that 50 key managers of MTS Group representing all functional subdivisions of the company in all regions and operating countries, as well as representatives of Comstar-UTS, MTS subsidiary, became programme participants.

The programme consists of five modules each including a theoretical part and practical work on specific projects within the key strategic areas of MTS. The programme will continue eight months. The training will result in the developed projects ready to be implemented within the framework of the company’s current activities. The project presentation will take place at the meeting of MTS Group Board.

MTS Leadership DNA is a unique educational project and its core feature will consist in participation of the company managers in the work on real strategic projects with the assistance of the world leading experts of the industry. Integrated approach to teaching taken as a basis of the programme is currently the most effective in the world of Executive Education and makes it possible to get a considerable business result from the programme’, noted Andrei Volkov, SKOLKOVO Dean.

Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO is a joint project of Russian and international business representatives, who joined their efforts to create a business new-generation school from scratch. By sharing practical knowledge, the Moscow School of Management dedicates itself to training leaders, who intend to implement their professional knowledge in the conditions of rapidly developing markets. SKOLKOVO is defined by: leadership and business undertakings, rapidly developing markets focus, innovative approach towards educational methods. 

The SKOLKOVO Moscow School of Management  project is fulfilled by the governmental-private partnership within the framework of the Education Foreground National Project. The project is financed by private investors, and doesn’t use governmental budget recourses. The President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev is Chairman of the SKOLKOVO International Advisory Board. 

Since 2006 SKOLKOVO conducts short educational programs Executive Education for top and medium-level managers – the programs are held in an open manner, and specialized, developed basing on the companies requests comprehensive modules. In January 2009 the school started the Executive МВА program; the enrollment for the second class, which will begin studying in January 2010, has already started. The first class of the international Full-time MBA program has been enrolled, the classes started in September 2009.
